"Winter Day"
Of course, I prefer the weather in summer over the cold of winter.
But the landscapes that this season offers our gaze are sometimes simply mesmerizing!
Like this one, for example.
Before I became passionate about painting, everything from April to September was green for me, and from September to April, it was gray. Autumn and spring seemed dreary and muddy to me, while winter was pale and monotonous. I didn't pay much attention to colors, shades, or tones. And that's how I lived...
Painting seems to have given me new sight, a new vision. In the attempt to convey the state and mood of nature, one becomes more attentive, perhaps...
This painting is an example of that. I would have never thought, and couldn't even imagine, that winter could harbor shades of turquoise in close proximity to yellow-red hues! And the sparkling snow, which turns out is not white at all!
How many wonderful discoveries await us!
