Description

Silver. Square plinth, weighted. Trumpet-shaped foot surrounded by palmette frieze, transitioning into a smooth baluster shaft surrounded by a reliefed leaf wreath at the base. Adorned with a displayed wreath of acorns and oak leaves, a conical nozzle with delicate ornamental band. Engraved, hallmarks, date letter "Q", master Carl Gottlieb Freytag (became a master in 1801). Weight approx. 460 g. Height 18 cm. See Hinze, Breslau, No. 26, 45, 181. A pair of small Biedermeier silver weighted candlesticks from Wroclaw, made by Carl Gottlieb Freytag (master since 1801). Assay mark, date letter "Q", master's mark. Silesia, Breslau, 1822-1834.
