Description
Reworking of a model from the Schwarzburger workshop. Large figure of a seated tiger (a predatory cat with a fixed gaze) on a rectangular base, executed in polychrome underglaze painting. Possibly by Arthur Storch, circa 1918. May bear a monogram and was formerly known as "Kholosi". Minor crack present. Bears a fox mark and the manufacturer's mark. Height 33.5 cm, length 39 cm. Thuringia — Volkstedt, the oldest porcelain manufacturer. Contemporary.
