
"Striding Elephant" is a fully sculpted representation of a striding, trumpeting, African elephant with a raised trunk. The vibrant blue painting is accented with touches of gray, black, and salmon pink. Created by Karl Tutter in 1939, there are minimal restorations; the piece bears the manufacturer's mark and measures 31 cm in height. See Mey, Catalogue "In the Sign of the Lion," Art Department Lorenz Hutschenreuther, page 432, number 1845. This large German porcelain elephant, painted in blue, was modeled by K. Tutter. It has undergone minor restoration and bears the manufacturer's mark of Selb Hutschenreuther. Dating back to the mid-20th century.
