Description

Swans sit on a rocky pedestal, some with outstretched wings, others depicted with a swan mother and young in various poses. The feathers are finely rendered in relief. The color palette features black and red on the legs, beak, and head. The overall appearance is restrained polychromy with some gold accents. The piece is attributed either to Johann Joachim Kändler or partially to an unknown artist, and is dated approximately between 1752-1855-1863. Model numbers include 213, 214, 2213, 2214, 1824, 2213, E177, 77364, 77132. Some parts have been restored, and there are traces of crossed swords. Heights vary from 7 to 13 cm. See the catalog of the State Porcelain Manufactory "Bunte Vögel", plate 9, numbers 213, 214. This is a collection of ten porcelain swan figures. Partially restored. Crossed swords mark present. Meissen. 19th/20th century.
