We present to your attention a striking example of Russian Art Nouveau.

Often, when referring to "Russian Art Nouveau," we think of silverware made using the techniques of filigree and polychrome enamels, primarily created in the workshop of the great Russian jeweler Fyodor Ivanovich Ryukert or his followers, who combined in their creations the style of "late Ryukert" with innovative design elements.
This particular stack, in my opinion, represents a completely different and significantly rarer variety of the Art Nouveau movement in Russia, one that is more expressive and emotional. Due to its richly bright colors and the absence of muddy tones, which became a distinctive feature of Ryukert's works, this stack, in my view, most fully reflects the essence of the Russian spirit; therefore, it can rightly be called "more Russian." Russian Empire, workshop of Ivan Khlebnikov - Supplier to the Court of His Imperial Majesty, 1871-1917.
