Description

Silver, partially gilt. Above a prominent round base rises a high conical body. The lower part of the wall is decorated with relief molded lanceolate leaves. Beneath the rim is a finely engraved band on the striking surface. Gilded interior. Developed with a resonant sound, assay mark, master Johann Gottfried Horn the Elder (became a master in 1714). Weight approximately 95 g. Height 9.5 cm. Compare with Hintze, Schlesien, p. 151, type VI, and p. 152. Silesian Baroque silver-gilt beaker by Johann Gottfried Horn the Elder (master since 1714). Interior gilt. Assayed and master’s mark. Silesia, Ohlau. Circa 1730.
