Description

Silver, partially gilt. A cylindrical hanging wall is supported by three ball-shaped feet, separated by four nearly round medallions. Within these are relief sculptures of imperial portraits alternating with fruit tassels above a finely pierced surface. The interior is gilt. Created with a trembling stroke and hallmarks by master Jakob Pfaff (became a master in 1677). Weight approximately 65 g. Height 7 cm. Compare with the catalogue of the German National Museum, Vol I, part 1, No. 641, BZ 29. A small Nuremberg baroque partially gilt silver cup by Jakob Pfaff (master since 1677). Interior gilt. Assayed, tested, and with workshop hallmark. German, Nuremberg. Circa 1691-1701.
