A collection of flasks as gifts for hunters: a unique creative project – a collection of handmade, author-designed flasks for fishermen and hunters – was recently presented in the cozy atmosphere of Moscow's Cacciatore restaurant. The collection is the result of a creative collaboration between The Balvenie brand, restaurateur and hunter Andrey Zaitsev, and silver artist Alexander Aniskin. To mark the project's completion, its creators gathered guests whose lives are closely linked to hunting and fishing for a friendly dinner and to appreciate the exclusivity of these handmade pieces.
In our age of robotic technology and automated production, handmade items are becoming ever-more highly valued, be it in crafts, culinary masterpieces, or gun making. And it's clear why: handcrafted items carry the soul of the master, distinguished by a striking individuality and the originality of the author's vision.
Hand craftsmanship is particularly important to The Balvenie, which for many years has supported artisans worldwide by creating collaborative projects. The collection of flasks for hunters, fishermen, and all connoisseurs of handcrafted masculine drinks is the realization of one such collaboration.
The flasks were made by renowned Moscow jeweler and silver artist Alexander Aniskin according to the concept and with the direct involvement of Andrey Zaitsev – an experienced hunter and fisherman, and owner of Cacciatore. Andrey not only proposed the idea but also actively participated in the development and improvement of the flask's design, personally testing its functionality in the field.
The collection, limited to just 50 pieces, is made of 925 sterling silver, adorned with an exquisite medallion crafted in Byzantine enamel technique, and complemented by a built-in cup. The flasks are available in seven designs: showcasing a roe deer, capercaillie, bear, lion, hippopotamus, horse, and tuna medallion. Such a flask is truly unique and will make an excellent gift for lovers of art objects created by talented craftsmen.
"Creativity is always manual work, whether it’s poetry, visual art, or fretwork," Alexander Aniskin says. "In jewelry creation, the technological process, I believe, doesn’t change. In different eras, it's different styles, but always first comes the inspiration of the soul, then the hands, then the sketch, and finally the craft. Also: for those who have a thirst for creativity and a God-given seed of talent, everything succeeds. If a person is not interested, nothing will work out. Art is also jealous – it allows one person to achieve the desired result, another not."
Apparently, the creators and visionaries of this joint handicraft project have no shortage of creative passion: their silver flasks have already been highly appreciated by the hunting community.
