Spring. Dixon.

Mud Nikolai Pavlovich

Description

Spring. Dikson. Composition: "Spring. Dikson" is one of Loy's northern works. In the lower right corner of the painting, the author's signature can be found. The village and port of Dikson appear in the paintings of artists. Dikson painting. Dikson is an Arctic urban-type settlement that was a workers' village until 2011, located in the Taymyr Dolgan-Nenets District of the Krasnoyarsk Krai in the Russian Federation. Dikson is situated 685 kilometers north of the city of Dudinka and is one of the northernmost settlements in our country. Dikson lies in the northwest of the Taymyr Peninsula, at the mouth of the Yenisei Gulf, on the shore of the Kara Sea. Arctic Dikson is the northernmost port in Russia. This settlement is inextricably linked to the development of the Northern Sea Route. The village of Dikson is divided by a bay into island and mainland parts. Between the island and the coastal (mainland) part of the village flows the Vega Strait, which is 1.5 kilometers wide. In winter, vehicles travel between the island and the mainland via an ice road; in summer, boats operate, and in spring and autumn, only helicopter transport is available. The distance from Dikson to the city of Krasnoyarsk is 2,507 kilometers, and to the city of Dudinka by water route is 650 kilometers. In 1916, a polar station with a radiometeorological center and a geophysical observatory was established here. The village has its own local history museum. In 1987, a folk art gallery was founded and opened through local efforts. Dikson is located in an Arctic desert with a harsh climate. The polar day lasts from May 5 to August 10, while the polar night lasts from November 11 to February 1. Dikson-themed subjects in the works of painter artists and graphic artists are not as common for a well-known and understandable reason, but such works do exist and they pleasantly illuminate the inevitable interest people have in this God-forgotten place in Russia.
