Antique Royal Vienna Porcelain Plate

Antique Royal Vienna Porcelain Figurine | Hand drawn Vienna mark applied under the glaze to underside, blue shield (sometimes referred to as the beehive moniker) | Also impressed with the letter P (possibly a date mark) | Depicts an 18th Century Male Figure playing a flute with a dog at his feet | — After the Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory came under imperial ownership, it began marking its porcelain with a “bindenschild”, or what is now commonly referred to as a “beehive mark”. The mark was applied to the underside of a piece in a blue underglaze, and in 1783 the manufactory also began to add date marks. The bindenschild would have been applied by hand, and would not be symmetrical | Approx. Size: 3 3/4" X 4" X 7 1/2"
