An Alexander I mid-19th century Russian 84 zolotnik parcel gilt silver and niello snuff box, Moscow 1809 by A?of oval cross section form with a hinged lid with reeded front. The front with an engraved wyvern being lassoed by a putto amidst clouds, the reverse with a putto with sheet music amidst clouds, the sides with engraved buildings. Gilt interior, later engraved A.
