Porcelain Hunting Group with Rottweiler and Dogs

On an oval, nature-themed pedestal decorated with floral vines stands a fully sculpted, picturesque depiction of a Rottweiler surrounded by three other dogs. The polychrome painting is adorned with gilt highlights. This piece is possibly the work of Johann Joachim Kändler from 1758, model number 2693. The item has been restored and bears the crossed swords mark. It measures 17.5 cm high and 22 cm long. Compare with catalog number 26, "Porcelain Portions" by Pitsch. This group of porcelain figurines from the early 20th century depicts a hunting scene. It has been restored and bears the crossed swords marking. Made in Meissen in the early 20th century.
