Description

Silver. Lightly tarnished, smooth mirror-like surface, transitioning into a broad rim with a flower-shaped curved edge. The underside is engraved with the monogram 'ML' beneath a count's crown. Died, tremolo stroke, hallmark, by a master from the Müller family of silversmiths. Weight approximately 3630 grams. Diameter 26 cm. Compare with Scheffler, Berlin, No. 10c, 133. Six heavy German Baroque plates by a master from the Müller family in Berlin. Engraved count's crown monogram on underside. Assay mark, silver content, and maker's hallmark. German. Berlin. Circa 1780.
