Silver. Above a flat base rises a convex oval body. It features a curved, almost rectangular lid with rounded corners. The walls and lid are divided into four sections by vertical protrusions. Signed and marked by master Georg Schmidt (active circa 1703). Weight approx. 345 g. Height 7 cm. 13 x 10 cm. Refer to Neuhauß/Schmidberger/Richter, Kasseler Silver, BZ 3, MZ 69. A rare, massive German Baroque silver sugar bowl made by Georg Schmidt (active circa 1703). Marked with proof and master marks. German. Kassel. Circa 1735.
