UNIQUE FEATURES – EXCEPTIONAL INTEGRITY: This icon is a rare example of preservation in its complete, original form: • The original velvet backing between the painting and the oklad has been preserved. • The reverse side of the board is entirely covered with the original velvet—a sure sign of a costly commission and careful preservation. 5.
