1932 Was born in Gzhatsk (Gagarin) Smolensk region.
1960 Graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after V.I. Lenin.
1960-1969 Teacher of the Smolensk State Pedagogical Institute named after K. Marx.
1964 Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (since 1991 - member of the Union of Artists of Russia).
1965-1967 Graduated from postgraduate studies at the Department of Painting of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after V. I. Lenin.
1968 Member of the Board of the Smolensk Organization of the Agricultural Union of the RSFSR.
1968 Member of the creative commission on painting of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR.
1977 Awarded A Diploma of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR.
1980 Awarded a Diploma of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR and a Diploma of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR.
1984 Awarded the honorary title "Honored Artist of the RSFSR".
1985 Awarded the Diploma of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR and the Board of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR.
1986 Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Smolensk Organization of the Agricultural Union of the RSFSR.
1987 Awarded a Diploma of the USSR Academy of Arts. Secretary of the Board of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR.
1988 Elected member of the Board of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
1989 Awarded the Diploma of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
1995 Awarded the honorary title of "People's Artist of Russia".
1987 Awarded the medal of the President of Russia in honor of the 850th anniversary of Moscow.
1992-1999 Secretary of the Union of Artists of Russia.
1996-1999 Member of the Board of the Smolensk Organization of the Union of Artists of Russia.
1999 Awarded the "Golden Pushkin Medal" of the Government of the Russian Federation for participation in the All-Russian exhibition "Boldinskaya Autumn". He was nominated for the State Prize of the Russian Federation. He was awarded a Certificate of Honor by the Head of the Administration of the Smolensk region.
In 2003, for outstanding achievements in the field of fine arts, he was awarded the "Order of Friendship".
2007 Elected Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.

Delegate to the congresses of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR (II-1968, III - 1972, IV - 1976, VI - 1987) and the VII Congress of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
