From the KPM Berlin collection. Jeweled porcelain. Round form "Königsglatt with Palm Durchbruch". Cobalt blue background. In the slightly recessed mirror, a framed antique-style medallion with a male profile portrait wearing a helmet in grisaille painting on platinum. Surrounding the portrait is a rich, finely detailed relief gold decoration of foliage and scrollwork, with two sphinxes sitting on consoles, adorned with melted colored enamel pearls and powdered gold background. Painter monogram LCF, Ludwig Carl Frenzel (?). Unknown restoration; scepter and painter's mark. Diameter 24.5 cm.
