Gypsum

Gypsum

Gypsum is a soft, easily workable material widely used in art for creating sculptures and molds. It is a mineral composition consisting primarily of calcium sulfate. Due to its properties, gypsum allows artists to create both details and large structures. Gypsum is used for producing models and molds, including plaster casts.

Masters also use it to create Florentine marbles and textures in painting. Working with gypsum can be quite fascinating, allowing you to create something unique in just a few hours with the right approach. Do not mix gypsum with moisture before starting work, otherwise your creation may lose its shape!
