Collage

Collage

Collage is a unique technique in art that involves creating an artwork by joining various materials and objects, such as paper, photographs, pieces of fabric, and other elements. This process allows for the creation of new visual meanings and effects, unlike the traditional painting approach.

The first experiments with collage emerged in the early 20th century thanks to the Cubists and Dadaists, including such famous artists as Picasso and Braque. Incidentally, one amusing incident with collage is linked to the renowned artist Richard Hampton, who once accidentally mistook his art materials for waste paper, leading to the creation of an interesting piece of art.

As a means of self-expression, collage gives artists incredible freedom in choosing forms and textures, making it one of the most diverse and captivating directions in contemporary art.
