Composition
The combination of elements of art to achieve unity

Composition is a principle by which parts of a work of art are united into a single, balanced whole. In painting, sculpture, and decorative objects, this sense of equilibrium is achieved by selecting color relationships, rhythms, forms, and contrasts so that details do not compete with each other but reinforce the overall idea.
Often the artist uses the rules of the golden ratio or triangular composition. The architect Andrea Palladio, when creating facades, spoke of the importance of "musicality" in the arrangement of windows and cornices. In modern design, harmony of composition helps to make the setting of a silver table not only refined but also visually ordered, where each item supports the overall style.
Even at an art auction, an object with a harmonious composition always stands out among others, often leading to unexpectedly high bids.
