Minimalism

Minimalism is a style in art and design that emerged in the mid-20th century, characterized by simplicity of forms and the rejection of superfluous details. In painting, sculpture, and architecture, minimalism emphasizes clean lines, monochromatic palettes, and geometric forms. This approach seeks to eliminate all excess, creating harmonious and balanced spaces. Minimalism also implies "less is more," meaning the use of a limited number of elements to achieve maximum effect.

For example, the renowned artist Donald Judd became an icon of this movement with his simple square and rectangular works in metal and wood. An interesting fact: minimalism was not only a style but also a philosophy, reflecting a striving for simplification and purification, which contrasted it with the more complex and overloaded styles of previous eras.
