Modernism

Modernism is one of the most significant artistic movements of the 20th century, representing not just a style but an entire philosophy that challenges established art traditions. This approach encompasses various forms of art, including painting, literature, architecture, and music. Modernism opposes realism and academicism, striving to explore new forms, materials, and ideas.

The main features of modernism include experimentation with form, a break with traditional structures, and an emphasis on subjective perception of the world. One of the first and most influential masterpieces of this movement is "The Sun Circle" by Vincent van Gogh, which deliberately uses bright colors and unconventional forms. Modernists sought self-expression and a deepening of personal perception, which often drew criticism from more conservative viewers. This movement opened the door for subsequent styles such as Cubism and Surrealism.
