Dry brush

A special method of painting with watercolor or oil

Dry brush

Dry brush is a painting technique in which the brush is barely moistened with paint, allowing for textured, rough, and subtle color transitions. This method is especially effective for conveying textures such as skin, fur, or wood. The brush is moved across the canvas quickly with light strokes, causing the paint to be applied unevenly, creating an effect of a delicate web of color and light.

The technique appeared during the Renaissance and became widespread among watercolorists and oil painters.
