Description

Silver, partially gilded. Cylindrical wall hanging supported by three displayed ball feet, divided by four nearly round medallions. Within them, relief sculpted imperial portraits alternating with fruit bundles over finely punched ground. Gilded inside. Created, tremolier stroke, hallmarks, by master Jacob Pfaff (became master in 1677). Weight approximately 65 g. Height 7 cm. Compare with catalog Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Vol. I, Part 1, No. 641, BZ 29. A small Nuremberg Baroque parcel-gilt silver beaker by Jacob Pfaff (master since 1677). Gilt inside. Tested, assayed, and master's mark. German, Nuremberg. Around 1691-1701.
