Delicate hand-painted porcelain in the spirit of Romantic Rococo. Inscription: H.A. Jung No. 5 1835, on the back of the plaque. Dimensions of the plaque: 9.5 x 7.5 cm.
Georges Charles Dantès (February 5, 1812 — November 2, 1895) was a French officer in the Life Guard, a monarchist, and a practicing Catholic.
In the 1830s, he served in Russia in the Life Guard regiment. He was the adopted son of Dutch diplomat Louis Gekkerna.
He was married to Yekaterina Nikolaevna Goncharova (the elder sister of N. N. Pushkina).
He is known as the man who mortally wounded A. S. Pushkin in a duel. After the duel, he was stripped of his rank and exiled from Russia.
