The porcelain cup with the golden inscription "On the Angel's Day" was made at the famous porcelain enterprise of Yakov Khrapunov-Navoy. The Factory of the Novy Brothers began its operation in 1818 in the village of Kuzyaevo in the Bogorodsky District of Moscow Province, not far from Gzhel. The enterprise was founded by three Novy brothers, with the eldest, Ivan, at the head of the factory. The middle brother, Tikhon, managed the factory around the 1830s, possibly jointly with the youngest brother, Semyon. The latter took charge of the porcelain and faience manufacturer in the 1840s. Under the brothers' guidance, the factory thrived, producing porcelain and faience. Over several decades, the factory reached a sufficient level of prosperity to become one of the best enterprises in Gzhel. A considerable number of products from the factory have survived to this day, known for their good quality.

The porcelain factory of N.S. Khrapunov was also located in Moscow Province and operated from 1815 until 1840. The establishment produced porcelain and faience tableware and sculptures. By the mid-1850s, the factory's heiress, Agafya Novaya, married Yakov Khrapunov, the grandson of the factory founder N. Khrapunov. Since after marriage Khrapunov became the owner of the factory, he decided to retain the last name of the previous owners and took the name Khrapunov-Navoy. From this period, the factory bore the name of its new owner.

During his time in charge, Y.G. Khrapunov-Navoy significantly expanded production, equipping the workshops with modern hydraulic presses, grinding and steam machines, as well as other necessary equipment. In 1853, when the factory director began managing the enterprise, it had 45 workers; by 1871, this number had grown to 245, indicating a significant scale of production. Under Khrapunov-Navoy's leadership, the factory transformed into one of the largest ceramic enterprises in the country. In 1918, the enterprise was nationalized and renamed the Kuzyaevsky Porcelain Factory.
