This porcelain piece was created as part of a special project in collaboration with Mikhail Shemyakin and the Imperial Porcelain Factory in 2006. "The Drunken Little Rat" is one of the sculptures dedicated to a series of characters from the ballet of the same name, performed at the Mariinsky Theatre with set designs and costumes by the world-renowned artist.

Mikhail Mikhailovich Shemyakin (born 1943) – artist, sculptor, laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of Kabardino-Balkaria, People's Artist of the Republic of Adygea, honorary doctor of the University of San Francisco. Shemyakin's works are part of permanent collections in museums in the USA, Russia, France, Poland, and other CIS countries. He is the author of monuments such as "Peter the Great" (1991), "Victims of Political Repressions" (1995), "Architects-First Builders" (1995) in St. Petersburg, as well as monuments in New York, Paris, London, and other cities around the world.
