View snake-handled vase. KPM BERLIN 1849-1870, artist Hausmaler, on both sides gold-engraved oval reserves with fine polychrome painting, "Villa von Heydt in Berlin-Tiergarten" and "Palace Garden", at the base golden dedication "In memory of 1 January 1813-1863", body with attached bisque porcelain handles in the form of pairs of snakes above octagonal mounted plinth, mounting loose, one handle knob chipped height: 40 cm (15 3/4 in), blue scepter penny mark, literature: Honor: Porcelain Illustration No.290 the Villa, built for August Freiherr von der Heydt (banker and minister), was inaugurated in 1863, destroyed in the war, rebuilt in 1971, seat of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
