Description

Silver, partially gilded. Profiled, gracefully curved underplate with mounted, vase-shaped body on a drawn stem. Domed lid. Dish, wall, and lid decorated with finely chased and engraved rocaille decoration. Gilded interior. Marked, assay, trembleuse mark, master Johann (Josef) Michael Bettle (master since 1752). Weight approximately 90 g. Height 9 cm. See Seling, 2007, No. 2414, BZ 2390. A small German Rococo covered parcel-gilt silver beaker by Johann (Josef) Michael Bettle (master since 1752). Tested, assayed, and master's mark. German. Augsburg. 1769 - 1771.
